Mentawai and Merapi

Earthquake and tsunami in Mentawai Island and erupsion in Mount Merapi. Devastating. Death toll, until now, still steadily rising, especially in Mentawai Island due to the remote island, limited search and rescue volunteers also tools.

Though people in both disaster scenes are fully aware of the disaster threats, and early warning in Merapi was on, but not in Mentawai, still nature's force really showed its strength.

Now, survivors still face the challenge ahead. Knowing they have lost everything due to the disasters. Their well being, their family, their homes, everything.

Devastating. And my prayers are with all of them.

But in the middle of this devastating moments, we can still see people with more devastating attitude all around the country. I just can't help to bring up Tifatul Sembiring's comment on the disasters. Also Marzuki Alie's comment. Both are supposed to be the representative of Indonesia Government and help those victims and survivors, rather than being prejudiced about their faith or simplify the matter.

More devastating, knowing our government is run by these kind of people. I will pray for them more.
